Overview

ASTARIアスタリ-歩数計お得で楽しいギフトアプリ is a lifestyle-focused mobile application designed for Android users interested in tracking their daily physical activity. Developed by TIS Inc., the app functions as a pedometer and step counter, helping users monitor their walking progress throughout the day. Its primary purpose is to support users in building healthy habits by encouraging consistent movement through goal-based tracking and reward mechanisms. The app was positioned as a wellness tool for individuals aiming to improve their daily physical activity levels, particularly those seeking motivation through gamified elements such as rewards and gifts for achieving step milestones.

Target users include fitness enthusiasts, individuals beginning their health journey, and anyone looking to incorporate more walking into their daily routine. Real-world usage scenarios include tracking steps during commutes, walking breaks at work, or evening walks for leisure. The app was intended to foster a sense of accomplishment by linking physical activity to tangible incentives, promoting long-term engagement with healthy living. However, as of December 31, 2022, the service has officially ended. The developer has requested users to uninstall the app due to concerns about battery consumption from data collection and has confirmed that all personal data will be deleted in accordance with their privacy policy.

Key Features & Capabilities

• Daily Step Tracking: Monitors the user’s number of steps throughout the day using the device’s built-in sensors, offering real-time feedback on activity levels.
• Daily Step Goal Setting: Allows users to set personalized step targets, helping maintain focus and motivation toward consistent physical activity.

These features were intended to create a positive feedback loop, where users receive immediate recognition for their efforts. For example, reaching 10,000 steps could unlock a digital gift or badge, reinforcing motivation. The app also supports users in maintaining long-term wellness by tracking progress over time, although no historical data export or synchronization with external platforms was specified. The integration of rewards was a unique aspect, aiming to make fitness tracking more engaging and enjoyable.

User Interface, Workflow & Performance

The app features a clean, minimal interface designed for straightforward navigation. Users can view their current step count, progress toward their daily goal, and any unlocked rewards at a glance. The workflow is linear and intuitive: launch the app, check progress, and receive feedback based on activity. Navigation is limited to a few core screens, reducing the learning curve for new users.

Performance details were not specified by the developer. However, as a sensor-based utility app, its behavior would depend on background processes and device-specific optimizations. The developer did not provide information on CPU or RAM usage, nor did they confirm whether the app ran efficiently in the background.

The developer has acknowledged that data collection features contributed to unnecessary battery consumption, which led to the discontinuation of the service. As such, performance may have varied across devices, particularly older models. Stability was not publicly reported, and no official updates were released after the service end date.
